If you have received the Box Office Data Error: MailChimp action failed: Unsubscribe ... Could not work out group IDs from given campaign ID, don't panic - this "error" is more of a common "warning" and is nothing to be too concerned about. 


What's happened? 


A campaign has been sent from MailChimp without using the PatronBase MailChimp Integration. A Patron has unsubscribed from the campaign. 


When a Patron unsubscribes from a MailChimp email sent using the integration (i.e. the 'send to mailchimp' button next to a group) is: 


1. They are unsubscribed from the Mailchimp Selected Export (audience list) the campaign was sent from so they can never be sent to on that MailChimp audience list again

2. They are unsubscribed from the PatronBase group (segment) the campaign was sent to.


In this case, number 1 happened: the patron has been unsubscribed from the Mailchimp Selected Export (audience list) the campaign was sent from so they can never be sent to on that Mailchimp audience list again


However, number 2 couldn't happen because PatronBase could not work out the send group ID from the given campaign ID because the campaign wasn't sent from the integration. 


Does it matter? 


No, not really. You could go to send another group containing the unsubscribed patron to MailChimp but once it gets to MailChimp - MailChimp will NOT send to the unsubscribed patron because they are also unsubscribed from the MailChimp audience list... however, if they were to resubscribe themselves then they can be sent to.
